Getting started
Caesa connects to your own Blue Iris server, the same way Blue Iris’s web interface (UI3) does. If you can open UI3 in a browser, Caesa will work.
1. Install Caesa
Get Caesa from Google Play. It’s free to try, with every feature.
2. Sign in
Enter:
- Server address: the address you use for UI3 from outside your home, for example
https://cameras.example.com. If you only use Blue Iris at home, its home address works too, for examplehttp://192.168.1.10:81. - User and password: a Blue Iris user. Caesa does whatever that user is allowed to do. An administrator can arm, disarm and delete; a limited user sees only their cameras.
Caesa checks the details with Blue Iris before saving anything, and keeps the password sealed in Android’s hardware-backed keystore.
If Blue Iris refuses a password several times in a row, it may ban the phone’s address for a while. If Blue Iris refuses the saved password, Caesa tries once more, then stops and asks you. It never keeps retrying.
3. Optional: the extras
- Home network: add Blue Iris’s address on your home network so Caesa connects to it directly when you’re home. See Home network.
- Notifications: install Caesa Bridge on the Blue Iris PC.
- Instant playback: on by default. Caesa downloads recent alerts in the background so they open instantly. Choose which, and how much space to use, in Settings → Instant playback.
More than one server
Add another in Settings → Servers & network → Add a server. Switch between them from the name at the top of the Live tab, or see them all together with All servers.
