Notifications

Notifications need Caesa Bridge on your Blue Iris PC. Turn them on in Settings → Notifications.

Choosing what you hear about

  • Notify me about: people, recognised faces, vehicles, animals and other motion.
  • Minimum AI confidence: detections Blue Iris’s AI is less sure of than this (60% to start with) don’t notify. A low-confidence “person” is often a parked car or a shadow. Recognised faces aren’t affected.
  • Cameras: switch notifications off for any camera. Its alerts still appear in Caesa and are still downloaded for instant playback.
  • Quiet hours: silence notifications overnight, optionally still notifying for people.
  • Mute 1 h: on any notification, silences that camera for an hour.

Each notification says why it notified (“Person at Front Door”), with a picture and Watch, Mark reviewed and Mute buttons.

Morning summary

Settings → Morning summary: what the cameras saw overnight, every morning at the hour you choose, with a replay of the AI-confirmed alerts at the speed you choose, for the cameras you choose.

Keeping them arriving

Caesa keeps a small connection to the Bridge open, shown as the Listening for camera alerts notification. Android lets it run, but some phones are strict with background apps. If notifications stop arriving after a while:

  • Samsung: Settings → Apps → Caesa → Battery → Unrestricted. Also make sure Caesa isn’t listed under Battery → Background usage limits → Sleeping apps.
  • OnePlus, OPPO, Xiaomi and others: Settings → Apps → Caesa → Battery → Allow background activity (or “Don’t optimise”).

Swiping Caesa away from the recent apps is fine: notifications and background downloads carry on. Force stop turns them off until you open Caesa again.
